We have been financially responsible for the operation for the past 10 years, with all expenses coming out of our pockets. We officially became a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization last year and are in the process of developing a Board of Directors. Future activities in our organization include: sponsoring fundraising events to help offset the ongoing operational costs of the shelter, public events showcasing a sampling of our rescued cats, and educating the public on the importance of spaying and neutering through pamphlets, pet expositions and other educational material.

Almost Home furnishes medical attention and treatment immediately to all rescues entering the refuge, as well as a loving, safe, healthy, clean and cageless environment in which to live. We are now at full capacity, but are working on plans to expand the facility as there are still thousands of cats that need to be saved.
